We have been coming to prep for a few years now and every time we are in the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We normally do not like to wait to be seated however we will gladly do so especially for the Commoner burger and their amazing Bloody Mary. The hostess's provide accurate wait times and tsp their best to seat people as quickly as possible. Our favorite staff members are Rashid and Olivia however all the staff work well together and you can tell they enjoy what they do and serving those that come through the door.

Ate at both locations with my two kids (12 and 13). We all agree this is one of the best breakfasts we've had! The kids even ate the potatoes which they never do! The pastries we took to go. They were great! I had the guacamole toast which was fabulous! Fried chicken sandwich delicious!

We come to Tucson around every three or four weeks. We always stop and grab something to eat at this wonderful restaurant. We have always appreciated the great service we get from all the staff and the wonderful food. The last few months we have only have been able to get takeout, but that doesn't change the taste. It will be nice when we will be able to sit down inside to do lunch again. Thank you for the wonderful food and wonderful hospitality. P. F.

I don't typically write reviews But This is a first class operation and i recommend everyone in Tucson support this business. They struggled today and were overwhelmed with take out orders for Mother's Day ,but instead of just cancelling peoples orders they gave everyone who wanted to stay and wait for their order the meal for free and a $25 gift card. They also refunded people who pre-paid. There aren't many places that would do that. So definitely give Prep and Pastry a try.

I just moved to Tucson, so I haven’t had the pleasure of dining on site due to the quarantine. I found P & P through Instagram and saw they had an Easter brunch (also my birthday) for pickup. We had the quiche, scones, and lavender honey mimosas...and by far the best birthday brunch I’ve ever had despite the circumstances. Will definitely frequent here during and after quarantine.

The food for the most part is always great but with the recent way of to go orders only I have come to realize they must have had little to no experience prior they are very careless with making sure you receive utensils sides etc they have forgotten a side that comes with my meal on three occasions again I really enjoy this place and will continue to support this local business but it’s certainly frustrating when you get hone and realize parts of your order are missing or you are eating from your vehicle in between. Work and don’t even get utensils although you requested -thanks be well 🙂

Best breakfast in Tucson so far... great Exo coffee, service and food presentation. The food flavor was pretty polarizing, either sweet or savory, not a lot of go between. The food was reasonably priced. I'd like to come back and try the eggs Benedict! I loved that the bloody Mary came with a beer back.

This is a classic mom and pop, family run shop with incredibly interesting history of good eats just below the surface. The restaurant has been open since the 1940's (!!) and it feels like the same delicious plates we were served have lived through 70+ years of history. This slice of nostalgia alone we thought was worth our stopping by.

Exquisite food and a relaxing environment!! A very pleasing find in the Tucson area! I'm very happy to see that this delicious new breakfast/brunch spot has opened up in Tucson! Now I have a spot I can go to with my family whenever I am visiting that makes me feel as I'm right back in SoCal at a delicious brunch restaurant. I like it here even more though, because the vibe is a lot more relaxing and laid back. The prices are also great! I've come here with my family twice now. Both times, I had an amazing experience. The staff here are all extremely friendly and accommodating. They visit your table frequently to make sure you are well taken care of. The food comes out in literally no time at all! I was so impressed by the speed at which they brought out the orders! It also hasn't seemed difficult to get a table by walking in at most hours of the day, which is different a plus to me, coming from the Los Angeles area where there's usually hour long waits! As for the food, I find it absolutely exquisite and delicious. It is VERY fresh and you can see the quality and care that goes into it. All of the dishes are beautifully presented. I loved the biscuits and gravy that I got here the first time, as well as the fried chicken sandwich that I got the second time. Everything thing looks so intricately placed and freshly prepared - you're almost nervous to bite into it! But once you do, the flavor explosions put you into the stratosphere of heaven! I love it! I usually get a coffee with my meal, and they are quick to offer refills if it's looking low. They also have some interesting mimosa options. I really enjoyed the seasonal special that they had. It was a cranberry flavor. Very fruity and delicious! They also offered us a bunch of their croissants and other pastries for free, rather than throwing them out, as they were nearing closing time. Very nice and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of those as well! I've had an excellent experience twice at Prep & Pastry so far! I look forward to visiting frequently whenever I'm in town, and I highly advise this place to anyone else looking for some fresh, delicious breakfast/brunch food.

This is probably the most amazing and delicious restaurant I have tried so far in Tucson. Pictured is the Cast Iron Duck Confít, and it was delicious. Though I do wish it had come with more duck, the dish was extremely filling. The pairing of the berries with the duck, along with the crispy yet fluffy and tender potatoes and even down to the herb garnishes are such a great combination. I will definitely be returning to this place.

Fantastic food, great variety, but service and prices are ok. Loved the homemade turkey sausage, potatoes, and the amazing French Toast. Can't say enough about the French toast especially the "Milk & Honey" and "Chef Kayla's Call" (which was strawberry and chocolate churro). The toast is fantastic, and the pastry cream is delicious. You can replace your toast from the "Simple Breakfast" to French toast, but the upcharge is too much ($4). Food is tasty so you gotta try them out.

It's a bit hard to find from the street the first time you go; could definitely use better signage. The food was delicious! Worth the trip! Our waitress was very attentive but one of the others (who brought the food to the table) ignored a request to bring us some butter for the toast so we had to ask again. No biggie, but it would be nice to be heard the first time.

The food and atmosphere was great here. The French toast was a churro like flavor which definitely popped in the mouth and the Sammie Everything croissant had explosive flavor in the mouth, though the croissant was a little on the dryer side than I would have liked. Server was great!

Prep & Pastry makes excellent French toast. Both my wife and I ordered different menu options of their French toast. Neither of us had intended to eat it all when were there but it was so good we could not help but finish the entire meal. This was our first time here and we were definitely impressed. We most certainly will be back for more.

If I could go there every day I would. P&P has creative, delicious menu options, generous portions, and fair pricing. It is a restaurant concept that has been well thought out and stands out from the other breakfast/brunch spots in town. The employees are all helpful and friendly, and service has always been consistently great! I dare you not to go there and love it!

Great ambience, great service, lovely mimosas. However, I got the salmon and my partner got the savory breakfast bowl and the serving size was surprisingly small for the price. I left still feeling hungry. Everything was delicious but I’m not certain I’ll be back simply because of the price to serving size ratio.

The shakshouka is A+, as is the savory breakfast bowl. Love the assortment of teas. Amazing service. Clean and charming decor. My only reason for 4 stars is they need organic, ethically raised meat options as well as a menu listing of where their meat is from. Obviously the owners have a high moral standard, as their website says they source locally. However I'll continue being a skeptic and avoiding the meat dishes until it's in print.

As soon as you enter you notice the inviting space and decor with nice window light permeating throughout the space. All of the staff are dressed consistently and professionally and everyone greets you warmly even though they are always slammed for breakfast/brunch/lunch. The dishes are extravagant versions of staple brunch fare at reasonable prices for the quality of meal. The cocktails are some of my favorite in town, not just for restaurants but bars too. The Bloody Mary is exceptional.

Have been here a few times. The food is amazing and the prickly pear mimosa is even better. Good service and wonderful staff. Usually always a wait since it's an amzing place. They do get you seated quickly though. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes. It's nice that this location is close to my house and work. It is a little difficult to get in and out of the parking lot since it is on Grand road which is very busy. There is also slightly limited parking.

I would recommend doing the online wait-list to shorten the time you wait. I enjoyed a nice brunch with my family. There was a long wait and the restaurant seemed really busy but the atmosphere was relaxed and not loud at all. This was great for catching up and having good conversations. The staff is attentive but not over bearing. The food was well prepared and tasted great. I opted for 2 eggs and potatoes with a pancake instead of toast which I would recommend. The pancake was deliciously fluffy and buttery.

I was so happy when I saw that we finally have a breakfast restaurant in tucson. I came on wednesday morning with my friend to try it. The ambiance is wonderful. It is so smart to choose bright paint and open windows. Service was perfect starting with asking us what do we drink until the bill. They were so attentive and friendly. Here we start with the food. We had : 1. The dossant: which was really tasty and really good. 2. The biscuit and gravy: the eggs was good. The gravy was so salty ! The biscuits were dry and not new at all. 3. Chef hanna, which was french toast was really ok and nothing special with it. Updated 7-30-2019 I tried their pancakes and I can say that it is the best in Tucson. The omelette with turkey is the best. I am literally start falling in love with this place. Thank you Rose lisle :) Should I visit the restaurant again? Of course I will, I am so excited to try their other dishes.

I have been to Prep & Pastry before when they were located up the street in a much smaller place. They have moved locations to a much needed bigger building with a lot more space. Let me start off by saying the food was great and our waiter was good! I feel the one thing that kept my visit from a 5 Star was the reception. The 2 young ladies were that were up front were cordial but just not inviting enough. The place is extremely busy and being in that position would require a lot of patience, logistical skill, and the ability to smile through all the craziness. On to the food.......I had a the Biscuits and Gravy with 2 over easy eggs, and the fried Chicken. It was the BOMB! Guest 2 had the French Toast and Guest 3 had the Green Chili French Toast. I tasted both and it was the BOMB! I would say the new Building is twice as big but the wait (30 to 45 minutes) is still the same on the weekends, so be prepared. They also have a location on East Grant Rd. Gonna have to visit that location soon. Recommend :)

Nice chic place, came for breakfast, and luckily checked in first. Wait was not bad but they were very busy. I can confidently say the wait was well worth it. I had the Monte Crisco which was very decadent, and different, they grill it here vs deep frying, and give you a side of strawberry jam for dipping, so good. Wife had the Lox and said it was excellent. Upscale chic decor, great service and ambiance. We will be back next time we're in town.

This is my new and only breakfast/brunch stop! First of all, the staff and management is AMAZING. They are always so kind, knowledgeable and attentive to the customers needs. But you can't go wrong with their menu! Wow, the food is so unique but in a delicious way...I also love that their menu is always changing so I don't get into my 'one favorite menu item rut'! And last, the bloody mary's and white mimosas are the BEST EVER! My husband has tried to re-create the bloody mary recipe and finally we just decided we just needed to frequent Prep and Pastry more often because trying to imitate them just can't be done! All-in-all, we love this place.

The food was delicious! Atmosphere was very nice and the service was good. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star review is how loud it was. You were NEEDING to raise your voice for anyone to hear you. We were there for a business meeting, not a good choice. They need to modify something to help absorb the sound. Otherwise I love the restaurant.

This review is for the new location. As always, the food is superb, the drinks delicious and service fast and friendly. It has always been one of my favorite brunch spots and will continue to be on my go-to list for a great meal. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars this time is the noise. The new place has a lot of hard surfaces and can be quite noisy at busy times. We were a party of 5, and could only talk to the person directly across or next to us without screaming. We were seated at a table near the front door, so it's possible that the noise would have been more manageable in other locations. Next time, I'll try to sit outside. My other minor quibble was that the use of the Nowait app was limited to parties of 4 and under, so we weren't able to use it for our party of 5. I am hoping that this was because of the recent opening since we'd used it for 5 at the old location. But these are relatively minor and I highly recommend this place for a great brunch.

The new location on Campbell is just as good as the old, just a totally different atmosphere. The food and service can't be beat. We especially like the biscuits and gravy (ask for a side of extra gravy), and the fried chicken sandwich. The new location is a bit noisy and lacks the quaint and cozy feeling of the previous location, but it is bright and modern. It is very busy, but the wait time is not excessive. For the environmentally conscious, the to-go boxes are made in USA. UPDATE: our third and LAST visit. The food was still excellent, but the noise level beyond excessive! The coffee was cold (twice) and the water carafe had debris in the bottom (yuck).

Best breakfast/brunch spot in the Tucson Arizona. P&P is known for their great delicious pastries and healthy breakfast selections. The service is great but please be prepared for a long seating wait. The service workers were courteous, and they seem to care about offering the best customer service possible. I mentioned to the waiter that we were visiting from California and as an appreciation he offered us free pastries to take with us. I wish I had a place like this in my hometown. Thanks

Perfectly sized portions. Friendly service. Lovley atmosphere. I highly recommend Prep & Pastry! Had breakfast with a friend and we both got specialty mimosas and we. Fell. IN. LOVE. If you are a mimosa fan, definitely try the Rose and Prickly Pear mimosas! One thing I would suggest if you plan on going, is plan to go EARLY and get a table. This place gets very busy and they have limited seating.

Absolutely adored this place! A delicious selection of drinks!! I had the rose mimosa and mango- both were hella good. My friend had a bloody and loved it too. Their motto is brunch with alcohol is just sad late breakfast, and preach yknow! I also had the duck hash (name??). It was heavenly. Honestly, everything coming out of the kitchen smelled and looked amazing. We split a scone too; the perfect mix of tart and sweet. The atmosphere was just lovey and perf for brunch.

New location, same great food. Prep & Pastry is one of the best places in Tucson for brunch. Coffee is from the best coffee shop in Tucson, Exo. Plenty of drinks and mimosa options. Pastries are excellent and the menu items are great with plenty of vegan and gluten free options. Personally I like the prep omelette and cinnamon roll. The only problem here is how uncomfortably full you will feel if you get too carried away!

Hmm! So happy that Prep & Pastry has moved to a large, exciting space. I miss the old energy but, I hope that with time they will settle in and the place will look more like home. They have outdoor chairs as indoor chairs? At least with more space, the wait times for a table are much shorter! Anyways the food is always delicious! Portions are large and there are plenty of vegetarian options for lunch and breakfast. The cocktails and mimosas are delicious and refreshing. They serve local coffee. The staff is always friendly, quick and attentive. This is a wholesome place.

After reading the reviews of this place had to take a look at it myself. Yup the reviews are right the place is amazing. I had the biscuits and Duck fat gravy with Fried chicken. The biscuits were soft but stood up to the gravy chicken was absolutely amazing tender juicy not overly breaded. I don't know what they do to their potatoes but they're oven potatoes are spot on. And of course you've got to have a bloody Mary when your at brunch highly recommended and it comes with a side car of stout coffee beer A chunk of Salami ,cheese, pickle and olive .My husband had An omelet with sausage he said it was excellent and he is an omelet connoisseur. Looking at all the plates that were coming out everything looked amazing their pastries French toast out of this world. In the waitress was top notch

Classy, hip and amazingly good. Prep and Pastry is my new favorite breakfast spot in Tucson. As with all new restaurants I try my first go around, I ordered multiple entrees to get a smattering of what they offer, generally opting for what my server finds the better options. First, and the best, was the steak breakfast sandwich. Served on a crispy croissant, it was delectable and savory, with hints of spice and enough chimichurri to keep each bite moist. Sipping on a flavored mimosa between bites made it all the better. Next was the green chili French toast. This didn't shine as much as the sandwich, but it was still pretty amazing. The hint of green chili wasn't too overpowering, and the texture of the bread didn't remind me of traditional French toast. It was nice. I enjoyed trying a savory version of one of my favorite breakfast dishes. All in all, this place is amazing. Give it a try.

Visited 6/29. We decided on breakfast and since Tucson is finally getting its act together, we came here. Delicious! Everything was good, we had a few critiques Like the potatoes could be a little more seasoned, but otherwise really good. I had the prickly pear mimosa, and we split the poblano Beni and the everything Sammie! And I took home the maple bacon dosant We will be back. I'd love to try more. Our service was so-so. We waited about 20-25 minutes, when we were ready for a our check our server took a while to come back. When we saw her a few times, she was chatting with other servers, so that was a little upsetting.

Interesting dishes served in a chic environment.I particularly liked that they use unusual ingredients like harissa and duck fat and don't do copycat me to breakfast which are so prevalent in Tucson.they also have an extensive alcoholic drink list which seems to be the pole for many people. With the new, larger location just that much closer to home, I had to talk my boyfriend into bearing the Fourth of July crowd for breakfast at Prep & Pastry. The wait went quickly and I had quite possibly one of the best Benedicts of my life. It could have used a smidge more hollandaise as the biscuits were a tiny bit dry, but the flavor combinations in the poblano verde beni were off the charts amazing and I could eat an entire sheet pan of those potatoes. The staff was quick and friendly and the cocktails were delicious (and strong, it's a good thing we could walk home if necessary). Next time we'll be sure to stop for a selfie in front of the super cute entry wall.

I really wanted to give this spot 5 stars but both times we've been there we have had to wait a ridiculously long time to receive our checks. The food is great, staff very friendly, and ambiance on point. The green Chile French toast is great, though much more savory than sweet. I have to give it to them on their coffee. So many restaurants out Tere serve horrible coffee but prep and pastry does it right.

Fare was delicious. We ordered a couple cocktails as well. Everything was flavorful. My only complaint is...the server should have broken down my change so I could give a tip. Thank goodness I had extra cash with me to leave it, otherwise she would have received an unintentional crappy one. Sure I could have asked her to break my $20...but why when she could have done it to ensure she received the tip she deserved.

Great service, incredible food, quick hot orders, baked goods were fantastic... I can literally not say enough about how great the experience was! If you don't know about P&P you've been living under a rock. =) Friends and I went to the new location at 2660 N. Campbell this past Sunday. Crowded is an understatement, which bodes well for this local fave's continued success! Absolutely worth the wait! Plus, a variety of baked goods to take home! Yes!!! That said, the food was amazing. Brunch entrees sampled were: Lox Toast (it's a must - just more gourmet, fresh, and tasty than you can imagine); the Prep Omelette (the most buttery, creamy omelette ever!), Carnitas Benedict (yes, as delicious as it sounds), and Chef's French Toast (of the day - churro french toast with strawberries and chocolate - OMG!!!). Service was appropriate for the crowd and newness of the location. Not too slow, not too fast, but got the check at the perfect time. Another plus: they will box your leftovers for you (even when they are in the weeds/slammed). Amazing to have a much larger venue and still lines out the door (which is typical for 'new eats' in Tucson). But, with P&P it's more to do with the quality of the food and reputation. It's one of the most highly coveted, go-to brunch spots in town. Excellent food, beverages, service, atmosphere. They have a call ahead wait list via yelp app and on their website (links to yelp). And, how pray tell, they keep track of all us hangry Tucsonans on a Sunday, I have no idea. Parties are notified seating is ready via text to their phone, via the app. Plus, to pass the time, you can order a beverage from the bar and mill around as far as the outer patio entrance with your libation. It is a bit loud, due to the crowd and hardscape. They could use a mic system for announcing tables, etc. But they get by. Suggest you keep your sound on on your phone for your alert. And, there is not a lot of waiting area seating. Be prepared to stand a bit. Here are the pros, cons, and tips to make your experience as culinarily epic as possible: PROS: - Food - Beverages - Above average service - Misted patio seating - Good indoor seating (while super busy, you're 'on top of' your neighboring diner) - Separate bar - Good temp control (not too hot, not too cold) - Automated wait list via app CONS: - It's a bit noisy (crowded, hard scape) when super busy. Nothing they can do about that, so be aware - Lots of hardscape (contributes to noise level) - Long waits after 9 a.m. on a weekend (over an hour) - No reservations (unknown if this is true for special events, weddings, parties - they may take them for such things - I don't know) - Not enough parking (if you can imaging that given their new space) TIPS: - You can park in the lot south of their location on Campbell at the businesses closed for the weekend (turn in just before/south of their building) - Suggest you call 45 mins to 1 hour prior to arrival on weekends for waitlist - Tip your server/bartender - 20% and then add $2 for good measure and good karma =)

The Harissa Shakshura was the perfect balance of flavors. An egg floating in a delicate red pepper sauce was enhanced by the perfectly salty feta cheese and briny olives. Accompanied by crispy slices of warm baguettes for soaking up the sauce, my breakfast choice left me satisfied and happy with my selection. Service was excellent. My Exo coffee (strong and well balanced)was topped off often and we were asked about the quality of our food by several attentive team members. I love the new space on Campbell Avenue which opened one week ago in late June. Expect a wait if you arrive late for brunch. You have an option to get on the waitlist using an app. I recommend it unless you are up for hanging out in the lobby. Wait times extend past 45 minutes on occasion. PS. It is worth the wait.

This was my first time to P&P. I had a breakfast meeting here (picked by my associate) this past week and was pleasantly surprised. The front of the house was really friendly and got me to my table quickly and the server had me coffee and water right away. The coffee here is fantastic and you can tell that it's fresh and sourced local. Our server was really outstanding... we weren't rushed on ordering and when we did, was very helpful. We both ordered the POBLANO VERDE BENI, on our server's recommendation and holy smokes, a great call. Everything was fresh, the carnitas, roasted poblano chiles, cilantro, and poached eggs, with herbed goat cheese hollandaise over the top... I come to Tucson for business and this place is now on my go-to list for sure. These guys have it right.

The greater at the door was fabulous and very nice. The food was good and filling. We had the biscuits and gravy which I had forgotten I didn't like. Something about the after taste of the gravy or the herb in the biscuits. Portion was very nice. The eggs were cooked perfectly, over easy. The fried chicken strips were beautiful and crunchy on the outside but slightly dry on the inside.

Amazing! Fresh and light atmosphere, great coffee, and great food! Loved the chickpea scramble- I could tell all of it was natural and homemade. Awesome vegan option, just wish there were even more dishes that could have a vegan option! I've never seen a chickpea dish anywhere else and it definitely beats any tofu scramble. Overall very good!

Our breakfast at Prep & Pastry undoubtedly exemplified the term "breakfast of champions." The partner-in-dine and I went over for a late breakfast aka brunch on a weekday and were seated immediately. The wait staff was cordial and attentive. They came around regularly to check on us and refill our water. The partner-in-dine got the All Hail the Omelette and I the Beni. We also shared a half order of Chef Hannah's Special French Toast of the Day which was Churro French Toast with Strawberry Mascarpone. Everything we got was lip-smackingly good. The Beni was filling and savory. The turkey sausage in the All Hail the Omelette was what gave an otherwise average omelette the extra chutzpah. The French Toast was a sweet capper to a wonderful breakfast. We'll be back soon with our tummies empty and our hearts fluttering in anticipation!

In my opinion the best breakfast in town! Easy to understand why there is usually a wait to be seated. Omelet special are usually over the top. The Simple breakfast is a great value. Pastries are the best in town! Enjoy the casual atmosphere and friendly staff. Also enjoy lunch especially the meatloaf and dip sandwiches. Fries are a must. Can't wait until their east side location opens. A Tucson must.

Yum! This place is an obvious favorite in Tucson seeing as the line is always out the door. But when you see people happily waiting, you know the food is gonna be worth it. Do yourself a favor though and use Yelp to get on the wait list before you arrive! This is a great place for a monstrous hang-over breakfast or a delightful brunch with the parents! The staff are friendly and quirky. The menu is well rounded with vegetarian options and modifications. They also have unique varieties of hot tea. Breakfast cocktails are also a thing here.

Met a friend here for brunch and it was a little wait and the parking lot was full so I had to seek street parking, But aside from that, I had a good experience. Staff was very nice and the waiter was attentive. Food was good. I started with a prickly pear mimosas and had the simple breakfast (bacon, eggs, potatoes and toast) with plain French toast. The bacon is thick and has this sweet syrup in it, very good! The potatoes were delicious! Seasoned and cooked all the way through.

Really lovely food. Creative, interesting, artfully prepared. Great flavors. My husband likes the steak and egg croissant sandwich, which comes with crispy smashed potatoes that are super addictive. They have a lot of veggie options like the chickpea scramble and a yummy sweet potato hash. Plus a selection of loose teas. Love it! However, this location is definitely not as charming as the one on Campbell.

Wow! One of my favorite weekend brunch spots. It gets busy on the weekend so go early. Duck confit, sweet potatoes hash, breakfast poutine (pictured), and chefs choice French toast (pictured) were amazing. They infuse they're own mixers for the cocktails and everything they do is handmade if possible. Their pastries are really good too but sell out fast.

Chicken is crispy and great for dipping into the gravy. The service was amazing the general manager is such a sweet lady. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

Prep and Pastry is the must-go brunch stop in Tucson. I've been so many times and have always had great service but today I had the best! Cody was our server and he was wonderful! Absolutely above and beyond! I'm vegan and he suggested the vegan item on the menu but also a non vegan dish that could easily be made vegan and it was so delicious! And he recommended the perfect summer cocktail to accompany it. He was friendly, warm, helpful, and polite. Also, let me note our bartender friend (whose name I did not get) for suggesting the French 75 mimosa with his house made citrus gin that infused citrus along with some pineapple to make a beautiful gin that went so perfectly in the recipe! He was so thrilled about the result as were we. It's so fun to experience a bartender that is excited about his ideas!

This was the best breakfast I've had in years! I had their omelette and potatoes and one of their flavor of the day pastries which was a "dirty chai" cinnamon roll. Talk about mouth watering! I wish I could eat here every day and not gain a single pound. Their menu was extremely diverse and unusual which was so nice to see. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Tucson!

Delicious food, wonderful and attentive wait staff and AWESOME coffee. This town has the worst coffee in restuarants. Prep and Pastry is an exception. You can also have a little hair of the dog that bit ya the night before if you so desire. My only quibble is that it's a little pricey and noisy.

Pre and pastry is absolutely amazing. Their traditional French toast is the best I've tried with chai whipped butter, encrusted almonds and berries. Highly recommended. Their sandwiches and house fries are delicious too. Ask for salsa for the fries and eggs and they will bring you the most amazing green salsa to complement your dish. Their coffee is very rich and robust.

Amazing!!! If you are ever in Tucson, this is a must stop. Food is fresh and tasty. I had the duck confit with cherry feta, potatoes and over easy eggs. It was a fabulous blend of flavors. Salty, sweet, savory. The over easy eggs act as a 'gravy'. The duck was delicious and not greasy nor oily. I also took home an orange, prickly pear scone that was wonderful. Moist and not too sweet. I munched on it all day. Service was excellent, prompt and polite. Do yourself a favor, stop here when you are in Tucson!

My wife and I went for breakfast hearing many great things about Prep and Pastry. We were not disappoint. French toast being one our favorite breakfast items we decided to go for it. We shared a plate and order a side of home fries. French toast was very flavorful, homemade fries or just right. The plate portion satisfied both of us and that was with sharing. I did see many other options and it all looked fantastic. We will definitely be back and hopefully order the egg Benedicts. Mimosa was great, they have many different options if you are looking for different flavors. Wait wasn't to long for 2 people, but I can imagine if you have a large party make sure you use the yelp wait-list option!

Prep & Pastry is my go-to brunch spot when I'm in Tucson. It feels rustic, airy, and intentionally Instagram-mable. The menu offers up reasonably-priced brunch favorites such as a variety of: mimosas, playful cocktails, eggs benedicts, omelettes, french toasts and more. They also have a section of "plant-driven" dishes. Great for vegetarians, not as great for vegans. They offer seating outside, although they could do a better job of keeping it cool in the summer months. My friend and I ordered iced coffee from local coffee shop Exo ($3.50), classic french toast ($9.50), and the savory breakfast bowl ($10). My French toast was decent. Next time I come, I'll try one of their more inventive dishes.

Full bar with lots of brunch drink options. Also recommend the stuffed brioche donut and chickpea scramble. They have more than just one or two veggie and vegan options which is always a huge plus. This is a kid friendly spot with high chairs and kid's menus. Totally worth the stop. Highly recommend.

This was my favorite brunch place I went to in Tucson! It was a very hipster feeling spot, with beautiful, simple hip decor. The also had many upscale menu options. My date suggested that I try the breakfast poutine, which I've heard of, but never had the pleasure. He ordered the Commoners burger, along with iced tea & a peach mimosa. The food came out in about 10mins or less, and was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Hands down the best place I went to on my trip! The food and service is always impeccable. I am constantly surprised at how above and beyond the service is. I have been coming here for some time and have never once had poor service or been served food that wasn't amazing. My most recent visit was over the past weekend. It was Saturday brunch time and they were fairly busy as usual (I recommend checking in on Yelp before you go to save your place in line). I am 8 months pregnant and tend to get the occasional hot flash. It was starting to get pretty toasty outside and I was all of a sudden hit with a severe hot flash. One of the staff members noticed I was uncomfortable and took it upon himself to fetch me an iced towel for my neck. I was yet again, taken aback at how great the service is. Just a tip: Get a pastry why you can! They go quickly and are DELICIOUS! My husband and I try a new pastry every time we go.

Such a great breakfast/brunch spot here in town! Came here with my friends on a rainy morning a couple of weeks ago. Food was great and the server was really sweet. OMG EVERY TIME I'M SHOCKED They continue to amaze me with how good the food is. I am a creature of habit. My friends and coworkers know my orders everywhere we go. But when I come here I change my order every time because I swear Jesus is in the kitchen throwing down blessings on the hands of the chef!!!! I had forgotten to write my review because I was in the most glorious food coma after I ate. I just saw the pictures of my food and got really excited and I may have to go back this weekend. So this time we all got something new ...as we know it's always great here. I got the bacon and egg toast. I am not a fan of Brussel sprouts so I had them take those off and I added spinach bell pepper and onion. My food was so good that I want to use dirty sexy words to describe it !!! but I want to protect your eyes. One sister got a chef special French toast, turkey sausage and a sweet potato hash with eight. My other sister got all hail the omelette. We also had 2 mango mimosas and one prickly pear mimosa.

Just wished for a smile or sense of pride in the place or herself. The food was incredible!!!! Let me say that again! It was INCREDIBLE!!! Best french toast that I maybe have ever had. I have never had savory french toast before but boy am I ever sold. It was spectacular. The sweet potato hash was wonderful as was the Nutella french toast. Brunch was well worth the hype. It sounded like you couldn't go wrong ordering anything and that was the case from my experience. The steak and eggs croissant was a perfect combination of flavors. The steak was thinly sliced and juicy and the egg on top gave a great breakfast feel to a juicy steak sandwich. The croissant was buttery, sweet and flaky and the crispy taters had a delicious rosemary finish. To finish off, I had a homemade donut prepared fresh for the day. The glazing and sugar coating was delicious for a perfectly baked and generously filled strawberry-lemon ending

On a Sunday morning we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table and they had complimentary coffee on hand for those waiting. The atmosphere is very welcoming, breezy and cozy at the same time with a modern farmhouse feel. I got the Return of the Mac breakfast which was good - not amazing but that's to be expected for a healthy option. I splurged on the Earl Grey blueberry scone and so glad I did - it was perfectly crumbly and fruity. The glaze on top was just too sweet for a scone, had to scrape that bit off. The husband got the Duck confit which was amazing! Unfortunately they overcharged us for a side of bacon, that was a bummer. Overall a very good experience, would probably come back and try their other dishes.

Visiting from out of town. They apparently get busy, but they have a Yelp widget on their website to let you get on the waiting list before you arrive. The estimate was accurate and we were seated pretty quickly. There is hot coffee and water offered while you wait. I ordered the Eggs Beni. A pork belly eggs Benedict with a side of crispy potatoes. The pork belly was dry so if you’d told me it was a pork chop Benny I would have believed you. Everything else was cooked well and the iced coffee is great. Even during a rush the service was excellent.

We came here from the 4.5 review and they earned every star. We weren't sure what to order and I told the Server that I wanted some sort of French toast and scrambled eggs and bacon, and she made the recommendation to order half French toast and add the eggs and bacon. My wife said that sounds good and then she suggested maybe get a single order of each and they were nice enough to split it. The French toast had a great taste to it and the eggs were so fluffy. The potatoes had a really good crunchiness on the skin and the bacon was awesome. To boot, the jelly for the toast was homemade strawberry jam. Our Server was awesome as well. She was there for us when we needed anything as was the rest of the people. This place is fantastic. It's not the cheapest, but is so worth it.

The food is amazing! Its a bit of a wait but well worth it and its small inside but the atmosphere is great. The servers are very nice and even ask if you have food allergies. I couldn't decide what i wanted and our waitress suggested a dish and I'm glad that I went with it because it was so good!

What a great place! I love both locations. Campbell is right next to my work. It's so close, so most fond of. Staff in both locations have been amazing. Not a single complaint. We are "foodies," so to speak, and have enjoyed Prep for a while and are a bit of restaurant connoisseurs. We love this place and have never been let down. One time, our Prep potatoes were slightly overdone according to my company, but delicious as always anyways to me. We had no problem eating them anyways! So good, staff amazing. Overall 5 stars! ❤

I LOVE THIS BREAKFAST PLACE!!! It's super cute and very affordable! The plating is always perfect! I am very basic and always get scrambled eggs and the potatoes and toast but the potatoes are so different than usual breakfast places and they're so good! The eggs are always fluffy and exactly how i like them! The ambiance is super aesthetic and cute in there so if you're looking for a trendy breakfast nook, this is your place! The service is always super quick as well but i recommend you make a yelp reservation if you're going on the weekends because it's always very crowded but they do their best to get you in and out in a timely manner!

Terrific food. Terrific service. Our group included two small kids and our waiter Zachary was so patient and kind with us. The kids split pancakes and the classic breakfast from the kid's menu - not even a blink of an eye or scoff from the waiter. I had the duck confit with a fried egg and whipped cherry goat cheese - terrific flavors. Also sampled the prickly pear mimosa, which had a good balance of sweetness. A welcome change from the classic. Lots of options and everyone enjoyed their meals. Will be back!

If you ever thought about coming to prep and pastry DO NOT HESITATE. This place is delicious. The staff is alright though. The few times I've been there it hasn't been stellar or anything but the food is so die for. Be sure to make a reservation though. This isn't a place you would want walk up on. Get the chicken and waffles. The chicken is the best and it's hands down the best thing there.

What a cool spot and a surprising find in Tucson! We came here after hiking sabino canyon and waited about 30 mins to be seated. It was well worth it. Everything about this place was fresh, delicious, and well portioned. We tried the classic French toast, which the chai butter superbly elevated. The fresh veggie breakfast bowl with kale, quinoa, avocado, and poached eggs was light and refreshing. The really cool dish was the cream cheese chocolate dossant, a wonderful combination of croissant with donut. Why can't other cities have a cool brunch place like this?!

I love coming here! The food is always incredible, from the simple breakfast to the green chili French toast, it never disappoints. Today my boyfriend and I shared the Hannah's call, it is a seared carrot cake French toast with mascarpone whip and stewed apples. LOVED IT. We also ordered the simple breakfast and lox toast and a Bloody Mary and the prep up to the sunrise cocktail. Everything was incredible and they treat you like family. Thank you prep and your incredible staff!

I finally made it to a Prep & Pastry, and I am very happy I did! The staff was super friendly. I mean the ENTIRE staff. I think we had friendly contact with 6 either hosts, managers or servers throughout our lunch. The house Bloody Mary was a delicious start. I had the salmon with veggies & quinoa, which was perfectly cooked medium rare salmon. My mom ordered the Dip with fries, which was large & on amazing bread. She took half home, and before even requesting, our server offered more au jus to take with the leftover half. A very nice gesture. Looking forward to trying other items in the future.

Prep & Pastry is a super cute restaurant with an industrial appearance from the outside, it is on Grant road next to the Post Office, don't pass the entrance as you will have to make a uturn as no entrance from the PO parking lot. Breakfast; today I ordered the Nutella & Bruleed Nutella French Toast, and let me tell you it was delicious not too sweet with perfect amount of nutella was super moist think bread slices. The coffee was delicious, I had to get to my next business stop but wanted to see what the house coffee brand was. The cutest was creamer came in a mini fresh coffee creamer with my coffee. Server; My server was Jessica, she was super cute and friendly. It does appear that all the servers help and assist all customers.

"This is my second review of Prep because my first, in all honesty, was boring. Here is the real deal..." Oh Prep, my sweet and savory Prep, how I love you so. This gem serves a transcendent breakfast; a marvelous piece of Heaven. The Best in our Desert City. This love affair started about a year ago; my wife and I were looking for something special for the day's first meal. We had been curious about this place-- good reviews whispered in our ears. We entered this cozy establishment to be greeted by a friendly hostess who uttered the words we all want to hear, "Sit anywhere you'd like". The scents were a magical bloom of bacon and other fine meats, fresh bread, pastries and biscuits, gravy and butter. A friendly server quickly greets us with water and a half carafe as back up; takes our drink order. For myself, always an Arnold Palmer; my wife, a spectacular looking Mimosa. The menu was quite a feat as everything sounded amazing. We chose a "Steak" and Egg Croissant and a Breakfast Sammie. So here's where it gets out of control. This work of art arrives at the table. Scents of well-prepared, garlic infused beef fill my head. Layer upon layer of perfectly prepared items topped by this aioli...oh the aioli. Others say "aioli" this and "aioli" that; this almost hurt it was so... don't have words to describe. My wife and I share everything; in this case I said to her before I took the first bite, "Babe, I'm going to have to this whole thing". She replied," It's OK I'm loving the Breakfast Sammie". So I slowly demolished this masterpiece, enjoying each flavor and nuance. I ordered this wonderfulness every time since (along with their sweet treats that I'll get to shortly). ______________ Jump to last Sunday... My parents just fully moved to The Desert City; foodies as well. They could not wait to dine at this marvelous establishment after the words of praise from my wife and I. Also, they love Commoner & Co (same owners) but that's an upcoming review. So now Prep is the "goto" breakfast spot, especially on the weekends; deservedly so. The trick now is using the Yelp Waiting List. From the comfort of your home you can gauge the wait time against your preferred dining time. For me, we wanted a table for 4 at noon and the wait was 96 minutes; so I got on the List at 10:44am with a check in of 11:55am. Waited until 12:15pm and we were seated. This fine place has the feeling of a home away from home--even when busy. We were ushered to our table and it was perfect. My father uses a small wheelchair when dining out; my wife mentioned this upon check in and they delivered. Our server quickly comes to the table with water; she knows we've been waiting a little to get into Prep. Did I mention the service is ALWAYS phenomenal? She takes our drink orders; 3 key lime Mimosas with a graham powder rim and my Arnold Palmer. She asks me about food allergies at the table and proceeds to bring out this mind-blowing pastry; their last one! A divine cinnamon roll covered in pecans and this gooey, rich caramel sauce. We devoured within minutes while in a food trance. On to the mains (apologies for the long review but I had to release some serious emotions about this place). My father and I ordered the Biscuits and Duck Fat Gravy with Fried Chicken, mom the Poblano Verde Beni with Carnitas, and my wife the All Hail The Omelette with Turkey Sausage. Everyone was thrilled with their dishes, but for me it started my second culinary bromance at Prep & Pastry. The Biscuits and Gravy were exceptional; my father and I wanted extra gravy which was brought out by our server in about 30 seconds. But this Fried Chicken... oh my Lord. I don't like to curse in reviews but my first words out after tasting this crunchy jewel were "Oh Sh*t". I've had a lot of Fried Chicken around the country and this not only measures up to the Greats in the South but is the best in Arizona. Very crispy with a perfectly seasoned crust; supple chicken within. As excellent as the Biscuits and Gravy were, I was on another plain of existence with the Chicken. Wow! We wrapped up Breakfast with a cup of coffee for the parents, my mother proclaiming that it was "really, REALLY god". That mean a lot coming from her. The bill contained Great Prices as usual. Conclusion: Everything Prep & Pastry creates is top-notch. Must tries are the "Steak" and Egg Croissant, the Biscuits and Gravy or French Toast with Fried Chicken and any of their pastries or donuts to start--all spectacular! Best Regards and Culinary Dreams, Bryan

Phenomenal breakfast in Tucson. The friendliest of greetings and hosting. My wife enjoyed the duck skillet and I partook of the chicken and French toast (only served weekends). We split a scone. Everything was fresh and tasty, not greasy at all. This place serves alcohol for those who wish for it. We do not have children but saw high chairs available. Outdoor seating is available with heaters. I gave it 4 stars only because the coffee was sour likely due to bean selection and brewing methods. Must try this place if you love breakfast.

Okay wow. My fiancé and I are self proclaimed foodies and we've eaten a lot of good food. But this place is now near the top of both of our lists! I was between two dishes so I asked our waitress and she recommended I get a half order of both, which ended up being PERFECT!!! I ordered an omelette with potatoes and the chefs special of the day, which was seared carrot cake French toast. I don't have the words to describe how awesome this meal was. Although slightly too salty, the potatoes were some of the best I've ever had and helped balance the sweetness of the French toast. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also, our waitress, Arin, was SO nice! She made us feel welcomed and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even asked. She was attentive, patient, and encouraged me to get half orders of both plates so I could experience the best of the best. I can't say enough great things. GREAT food, GREAT service, and GREAT atmosphere. Please visit this place!

Unexpected quality and such great service in Tucson. Right off the bat the hostess noticed we had a dog in our car and let us know about the outdoor seating. Then our server was on very knowledgeable and on it. I requested something that was not on the menu and without hesitation said that was no problem and made it happen. All the way to the end of our meal it was super relaxed and we were taken care of by all the staff. Service was top notch. Food was delicious, exactly what a brunch should be. I had the classic French toast with poached eggs, bacon and the roasted potatoes were great. Don't forget the mimosas!

This place puts Tucson breakfast on the map! I wish Prep & Pastry existed when I was going to UofA. They have a HUGE selection of breakfast cocktails including 9 different flavors of mimosas. I went for the prickly pear mimosa and would recommend it. For food we got the classic French toast, biscuit & gravy with fried chicken, sweet breakfast bowl, and a side of potatoes. Everything was fantastic! If you're looking for a gut bomb, the biscuit & gravy with fried chicken can't be beat. The French toast is some of the best I've had. Highly recommend the potatoes, they were arguably the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had.

We are continuously wowed by P&P (East). We simply have never had a bad experience and have tried numerous menu items. We usually go weekend breakfast so the crowd and wait time can be lengthy. After learning about the pre check-in on the app we don't worry about that anymore. Just pick your time to arrive and they keep you updated to length of wait time. Cool No reason to highlight individual staff because they are ALL excellent. Again, never had a bad experience.

Menu filled with creative twists on typical breakfast items and reasonably priced for big portions! Somewhere you can take your friends or family. I wish we had one in Scottsdale ! Only reason 4 stars is because of the wait. Not a quick outing.

This morning I needed to experience a California-esque Sunday Brunch, and Prep & Pastry did not disappoint. This solo venture into Tucson's Brunch scene offered friendly staff, fresh coffee, Amazing pancakes, and dreamy well dressed staff that stepped up an already outstanding customer service experience by comping my meal due to an excessive wait time; which this NPR nerd didn't notice but, is forever grateful. So this food is fantastic, but I'm inspired to Yelp this by the very, very good service! We had to wait for a table, which was NBD thanks to the friendly bartender who jumped at us with offers of coffee and bloody maries, both of which arrived almost instantaneously and were best-in-class. We ate shakshuka, steak n eggs croissant, poblano something or other, and duck confit. We all tried everything and the poblano thing won blue ribbon, duck n steak in second. I won't knock a star off for this, but it would be very easy to jam some plants and trees in some big pots and put them outside the window on the west side of the building, to beautify a currently unappetizing view of the Salt Winds mystery appliance and detached metal gate pile.

First stop after landing in Tucson from LAX calls for brunch! (There's 2 locations) Decor: place is very cute & inviting Food: - everything croissant: THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. Something about all the ingredients and that special pesto pistachio sauce *drools - duck confit: a bit underwhelming, not much flavor or umami taste Drinks: - prep up till the sunrise: if you like tequila, they are quite generous here with a twist of berry to make it even more delicious - brunch punch: reminds me of jungle juice, can be a bit too sweet aka headache later

The flavors, ingredients, and presentation was really great and there isn't a thing I would change. It is a small place with a strong customer base and deservedly so. They are rock stars. Another Tucson local gem! We stopped in for Brunch today with my wife's sister, a local. This is one of her family's favorite Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch eateries. We started by waiting at the bar with Mimosas (many yummy choices!) for my wife and sister, and an awesome Bloody Mary for me as we enjoyed a house made cinnamon roll. Our barkeep Clark gave us a lot of helpful information about the menu and some suggestions and excellent service. EVERYTHING on the menu looks awesome. We were later seated and ordered our selections. My wife's had a half order of the Poblano Eggs Benedict and a half order of the French toast. Most of their non-sandwich offerings can be ordered by the half, very handy if you can't decide between two items. Her sister enjoyed an Everything Croissant and I was very happy with my Monte Crisco sandwich made with smoked ham and Swiss cheese. The Monte Crisco is very filling since it's made with thick slices of Brioche French toast, expertly egg washed and fries. We will be back! There are many other menu items that I'm looking forward to trying and the service was excellent! The decor is, light airy and fun!

Good..surprisingly good.. like "oh #^&$", that's tasty good...like "let's eat there again tomorrow" good. This place provides a tasty range of options for herbivores and omnivores alike. Duck...duck... duuuuuck... get the duuuuuuck! A tasty blend of duck, veggies and fried potatoes (that somehow come out tasting crunchy on the outside and yukon gold perfect on the inside). Yeah, get this one..getitgetitgetit. Breakfast sandwich...the homemade english muffin is heavy, especially when melded to two different cheeses, while a really nice sweet and smoky bacon provides a punch of flavor and the fried egg provides both bulk and drippy yolk for the muffin to soak up. The spinach is there so your wife wont complain about your diet. This is a sandwich that will fill you up and is better eaten with knife and fork. More tomorrow..yes, im going back. You gonna like.....

First, the service is great. I love that they give you a carafe of water. Early on, my server asked if I had questions. I asked if he could just decide for me. He said he could. :) He was warm and personable and gave a great argument for having the Monte Cristo. I agreed. The Monte Cristo comes with their fried potatoes. Forget the sandwich, those potatoes were the best part of my meal. They are cut somewhat haphazardly, not uniform at all. The large pieces were smooth and creamy, the small were crisp and tasty. Peels were left on, which made for occasional happy little crisp potato peel pieces that tasted like delicious chips. They were generously seasoned with herbs, but not over salted. Perfect. The sandwich itself was a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but it veered quite a bit from tradition, and not necessarily in a good way. It was not battered and fried, but instead was a sandwich made with slices of already- made fresh toast. And it was normal, fairly bland, yet thick, french toast. The big draw for me was the pineapple-jalepeno cream cheese on this sandwich. But it was overwhelmed by the swiss cheese and hardly noticable. After a few bites I opened the sandwich to make sure it was even on there. It was, but it was scarce. I also didn't get any jalepeno spice until my last few bites. I could see the large pieces on jalapeno, and could finally taste them. The sandwich was woefully underfilled compared to the thickness of the bread. My notes to the chef would be: double the meat, cut back on (or eliminate) the swiss, puree the jalepeno into the cream cheese so you can taste the spice throughout, and double the cream cheese. I also wanted to take home a pastry. They had only a few left, and decided on the cinnamon bun based on name (I didn't look at the pastries before deciding). It is not a bun, but more like a cinnamon and sugar covered croissant, twirled into bun shape. Still tasty, but unexpected. All in all, it's a lovely place with great service and tasty food. I'll be back.

I sat solo at the bar. The wait staff were super welcoming knowledgeable and represented the goodness and flavor of this place. Be sure to put your name on the waitlist before you go because there seems to always be a wait. I believe yelp gives you the opportunity to add your name to the waitlist before you even get there. The menu is diverse, unique and they bake most every sweet item on-premise. I started with the Thai Fighter breakfast cocktail and then had remorse when I saw the 'build your own mimosa' set up. But ultimately I was happy with my choice. For breakfast it was another hard decision - do I go sweet or savory? Plant based or full on fat? I honed on on the Sweet Potato Hash which came with an over-easy egg and a delicious house-made goat cheese mouse. As soon as I got my plate, out came someone else's brioche doughnut with lemon glaze on top. Again I envied the person who went with the sweet dish compared to my favorite Ash. Next time I'm trying one of those. And oh and they don't do espresso drinks they only have drip coffee which is amazingly good. And five stars I'll be back

Their brunch were just okay compared to other brunch spots in Tucson, but you have to try their dessert here. The taste of their French toast was absolutely spot on! You can order half portion for French toast, so we always order two half-portion French toast.

I'm going to get the annoyance out of the way first. Its a cronut, not a dossant. Please stop calling it a dossant. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so awesome! She was sweet, chatty and makes a hell of a drink. We had their Bloody Mary and oh my gosh! They use peppers and garlic infused vodka they make and it adds a great kick without any hot sauce. The food was fantastic. The monte Cristo with pineapple jalapeño mascarpone was delicious but not a true monte Cristo as it's more of a stuffed French toast instead of fried. With it had more mascarpone on it! The omelet was fresh with great flavors as well. Their potatoes are amazing! It was savory and perfectly fried on a pan and just perfection itself. The berry cronut was a little overbaked but still delicious and cream cheese frosting on top was not overly sweet and perfectly complimented the pastry. This is definitely a place to visit more and try every singly thing on the menu!

We went to Prep and Pastry on a whim for a birthday brunch. The line was out the door to wait but we were able to grab a spot in line while driving over (a fantastic perk). Once we sat down (the bar), we were greeted by an awesome crew of bartender and waiters. It was lots of fun to hear their banter! We started with their lemon and blueberry mimosas. As an extra birthday twist, they were out of champagne flutes and made ours a double with regular glasses. We got the monte cristo and pork belly eggs Benedict ("the Beni") and LOVED them both. The eggs Benedict came on a herbed biscuit where you could taste each individual herb used. The monte cristo was served on French toast that would have been delicious on its own. Both came with potatoes that were not the usual bland hash browns, but roasted and smashed with flavor. Overall, I would certainly recommend this to anyone in the Tucson area!

So yummy, just like the first location on Campbell. I love the grant location because they use waitlist and are definitely not as croweded as the campbell location. Love the mimosa bar and cronuts selection. Omlets are great heathy (ish) choice. Definitely ask to have your potatoes upgraded to a biscuit and gravy (not healthy but good for the soul). Parking lot is small for brunching but definitely easier than the Campbell location. Will definitely be coming back (routinely) and would recommend to anyone.

So glad we came here! We live in OV so we rarely go outside the OV bubble. I got gift cards for Christmas so we came to try it. I knew it was going to be busy, so I used the online waitlist app to check us in when we left the house. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving. They have a small inside section and what looked like a large outdoor section, which is probably great when it's warm outside. We were greeted promptly by someone who got us some water and started on drinks. Emily was our server and she was wonderful. Very nice, attentive and efficient with taking care of us. The food was wonderful. It's easy to tell that everything is housemade and fresh out of the kitchen. I had the veggie eggs Beni and it was so delicious. There was an assortment of roasted veggies on top of a delicious English muffin and smothered in hollandaise sauce. It also came with a nice side of breakfast potatoes. They do have a kids menu, so my 4 year old nephew was quite happy with his little plate of plain pancakes. We didn't try out the adult beverages this time, but we can't wait to come back and try some mimosas and bloodys.

After having had their deserts, it was time to finally make it to their location. Overall it was a positive experience. I got the chicken and "waffles" and the rest of the group got the steak and egg sandwich. The chicken had a nice crunch but the French toast was dry and heavy. Plenty of syrup and hot sauce helped but I wouldn't get this overpriced fish again. The group raved about the steak and egg sandwich so I'd try that next time. If you're in the mood for one of their deserts make sure to get them when you first show up because they go quick and they sell out. This place stays busy so you may have a wait time. Go check out Native Seeds to pass the time.

Prep & Pastry is a great place to eat breakfast or brunch. For those people who like to drink alcohol with their brunch this is an especially great place since there's some emphasis on doing so. Prep & Pastry has several very tasty dishes and their bacon is amazing. I've tried several dishes and I really like their simple breakfast with bacon. Prep & Pastry has fluffy tasty pancakes too. I really also like their hot teas served in a small French press. I consider it one of the best places to eat breakfast in Tucson. [3/13/18 UPDATE] I changed my review from five to four stars because of my visit here today. I ordered the biscuits and gravy dish. The dish tasted okay, but with the buscuit's thickness it needed more sausage gravy. The buscuits simply were not smothered enough in gravy. I coughed while eating because the buscuits rubbed against my throat and parts of the buscuits were dry. If the buscuits were adequately smothered, I would not have coughed. Additionally, quite a bit of time passed between when I took my last bite and when a server asked me how I was doing. Today, this reminded .e of a previous visit where after my food was served the server never came back to ask if I needed anything. On that particular visit I wanted more to drink as well as some ketchup. **TIP - If you like to eat ketchup with your breakfast potatoes, make sure you ask for it when you order your food. The servers don't seem to ask if you want any condiments.

“Delicious Local Food” I had their Crab Melt and substituted fries for the soup of the day (French Onion). Both the sandwich and the soup were delicious. The sandwich is served on an open faced buttered toast and topped off with veggies. I found the restaurant to be very lively and the service was really good. Their menu is full of options and do not forget their pastries.

It says it in the name, get the pastries! So yummy. Been there several other times and had some great brunch food as well. Had the bacon and egg toast last time which was my fave so far. I've also had an omelet (but beware the tea smoked tomatoes, they're a little overwhelming). They have a great mimosa selection as well. It gets super busy on the weekend though. So either get there early, do the call ahead wait list, or be prepared to wait an hour during peak times.

It was a fun experience and the waitstaff was awesome. The menu has good options and a whole vegetarian section which is great. Some of the options could be improved, taste wise, in my opinion. The gravy was a little plain. The meat on the Benedict was a little chewy. Overall, a fun place to go with a group with lots of options.

Amazing breakfast/brunch!! Not only was the food wonderful and the service excellent, but you can also order two half orders for one full breakfast!! Going in, I was torn between the Cast Iron Duck Confit and the Green Chili French Toast, and I was able to order a half serving of both. As mentioned above, the service was awesome. "Brunch without booze is just a sad breakfast." It's one of the first signs you see when you walk in Prep and Pastry and may just represent my new mantra for life. Prep and Pastry is not your mother's breakfast place, and if she tried it, even she'd stop cooking and start eating here. Prep and Pastry has you salivating right from the beginning when you walk in and see the fresh baked brioche doughnuts, craft beer, and bloody mary's. To keep you hooked their menu is full of indulgent favorites and unique eats. On our recent trip I had the Pablano Verde Beni and a pumpkin latte brioche doughnut and I am pretty sure my life may never be the same again, both were incredible and both are members of the clean plate club. My biggest struggle was ordering, as there were at least 20 other items that I wanted to get this time, so I guess I'll have to come back and try them all! Pro tip - Costco sells Prep and Pastry giftcards across the street at a discount (as of 12/8/18), head over there first and save 25% on your meal. Also, they are one of just a few places who use the No Wait App so I recommend putting your name on the wait list before you arrive.

Say at the bar since I was alone and on a business trip. The bartender was exceptionally nice but I was also served by several other people walking by and asking if I was enjoying my food. The ambiance was casual and fun- I thought I would feel lonely alone at brunch but it was the opposite! I had the green Chile french toast with a side of bacon (sorry I need my meats!) and a Bloody Mary. This meal was spectacular!! I'll take green Chile whenever I can get it.

P&P has such a popular reputation that I was hesitant to review it until I had been here several times- Is it really that great or do I just think it is because that's what everyone says? But after my most recent visit, a conclusion had to be made. I've never had a bad meal, or even a mediocre meal here, despite the fact that I've been here when it's really busy & with BIG groups. Big groups, small groups, alone even, and the overall experience is consistently, overwhelmingly lovely. Of course the wait is pretty much always long, but I can't hold that against a place when it's just an adverse side-affect of popularity. With such an extensive, regularly changing menu, I would expect to have experienced a few more misses. But everything I've ever ordered has been a hit. I really admire the creativity behind every dish and love to go back again and again to try the seasonal items. And I feel like I say this a lot, only because it really matters to me, but the service is always personable and they don't forget little requests like that extra cup of ice or second coffee refill, even when it's packed. On this particular visit today, my table ordered the Nutella French Toast, the sweet breakfast bowl, the Brussel Sprout toast, & the veggie eggs Benedict. We shared everything, of course. The Nutella French toast was the perfect ratio of brioche to whip cream to Nutella and honestly didn't need syrup. The sweet bowl was addictive and complex. My favorite part was the caramelized bananas and peanut butter with the crunch of the granola; which all made me forget that I don't love yogurt. The veggie eggs Benedict had a crunchy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside Bread base (no sogginess!) with extremely flavorful carrots and some kind of (?) delicious sauce. The potatoes on the side are the best kind of breakfast potatoes- crackling but soft, not too greasy, with plenty of flavorful herbs. However, the star for me was the brussel sprout toast, which was inexplicably crispy and nutty and tangy and sweet all at once. I think there was a honey drizzle which complemented the definition-of-an-over-easy egg and slightly charred Brussels in an unexpectedly delightful way. So yeah, that meal did it for me. I finally had to tell you all, it really is that great.

So, how does one top a previous day's adventure? We were on a cool and breezy sightseeing road trip through Southeastern Arizona. It was a beautiful evening, with my beautiful blonde, in a beautiful hotel. When we both woke up, we were greeted by an enchanting view from our suite's private patio. Such a bright and beautiful day needed something spectacular to rev us up. How could I possibly carry the momentum from the previous day, to open up this particular Sunday morning? Have breakfast at one of Tucson's highly rated and revered breakfast spots - Prep & Pastry! We quickly showered and changed. Then, we hopped in our car. We enjoyed the 10 mile drive to this place with the top down. It was a beautiful, cool morning - perfect convertible weather. Yes, we could've eaten at the resort, but we like driving (me, more so than my wife). So, ANY excuse for me to go anywhere in my car is a worthwhile one. As we pulled in, we immediately noticed the long line of patrons eager to sample that morning's delicacy. Their check-in system is quite efficient. Their Maitre D' was always on the lookout for the soonest available spot, and provided continual feedback via his app. We didn't mind, as we're used to waiting for breakfast. As long as the food would be worth it, a little wait was fine. It was definitely worth it. There 's a reason why this place is so highly rated. It's not just hype. Every ingredient is scrumptious to the Nth degree. Each item is distinctive enough in its taste so as to differentiate itself from everything else you're having. I had the omelette, and those eggs definitely tasted like the hen personally laid them just for me. Exaggeration? I don't think so. The thick slice of cured bacon was simply heavenly. It wasn't overdone, nor was it over caramelized. There was no hint of the remnants of offensive lard and/or grease. The pancakes were fluffy. Not that it is any more special than others. But, it was the home made syrup that truly made a significant difference in it's taste. Then there were the breakfast potatoes. They weren't exactly perfect, but their texture and saltiness were definitely well measured and appropriate. My wife is not a fan of the seasoning they used, so didn't like them, but I did The service was professional, if a little impersonal. Everyone had a smile, but there was little interactivity with the server. An interesting observation, as we waited for our food, is that the waiters here seemed to be selected for their identical looks. Most had short brown hair, and chunky glasses! We honestly got a chuckle out of that as they all looked similar as if it were a theme of this place. We get giddy and giggly first thing in the morning. There's nothing like a great breakfast in a phenomenal place to really begin a fantastic day.

On the weekends, this place has a wait of more than an hour. Up to you to decide if it's worth it, but let me just say - the weekend brunch menu is fire. The chicken and French toast is so good - chicken was so tender and not dry at all. French toast was surprisingly tasty with how savory they were with the rosemary! I've also had the pork belly Benedict - really good, but super fatty/rich, so just be prepared for that. I might get it with fruit instead of potatoes if i was being smart. ;) The iced black tea is good here - has some floral notes that make it almost taste like a passion tea, but it's not sweet! Try it out, come here super early on the weekend, or during an off hour on the weekdays to give it a shot and decide for yourself.

I would this is probably my favorite breakfast place in Tucson. Been here several times. Back in the day, this was the only breakfast place that my husband and I would eat at, but now because of all the new places opening up, we have not been here for a while, but trust me, every time we talk about breakfast, this place is top on our list. We have dined in the patio and inside on weekdays and weekends and have always been pleased with the service and the food quality. My go to was always the smore's french toast. It not as moist as I would want it to be, but still tastes delicious with the marshmallow cream and the chocolate syrup with graham crackers. The portions are huge and the dishes can easily be split between two people. I have also tried other things from here such as the matcha chia pudding, unique concept and tastes great with a hint of healthy. The chickpea scramble is my new favorite, it's vegetarian option with a great twist on serving eggs with chickpea base, instead of potatoes to keep it healthy. It's a been a while since we have been here, but writing this review is making me want to come here soon.

I found myself at Prep & Pastry after a glowing recommendation from my sister-in-law. It was only later that I was stunned at the number and consistently high level of Yelp reviews, and I'm not sure what I can truly add here. What I can say, collecting some of the feedback that I overheard during our group lunch experience, is that the raves are well earned. We found the duck confit skillet is delicious, the burger and grilled cheese/tomato soup entrees are not only tasty but generous for the money, and one person said that this was the best omelette she'd ever had. Perhaps unique to our experience, a gentleman held the door and chatted with us for a few minutes as we prepared to leave. He asked where we were staying, and made a glowing recommendation for other restaurants in that area. It turns out that we were talking with the owner of Prep and Pastry. I thought that was really classy of him to pass some love to other businesses.

Ordered the simple breakfast with eggs, potatoes, bread and bacon. The potatoes and bacon were the best. This is the best version of home fried potatoes I have had in a while. Just what you need to kick start your lazy Saturday morning. The wait time is approximately 20 minutes and I would suggest start waitlisting and checking in on the yelp instead. I would like to talk about the coffee though because they would serve you coffee until you have the jitters, absolutely no complaints there. You could also enjoy the scenic mountains if you pick the right seats. Nice ambience and very polite staff.

First time ever at Prep & Pastry! Came here on a Saturday at 10:30am. I ordered the Brunch Punch cocktail because, why not? And there's a wall decor here that convinced me: "Brunch without booze is just a sad late breakfast." Which reminds me, the decor here is awesome. Comfy booths with modern, casual decorations. Back to the Brunch Punch: Delicious! I love sweet cocktails. This came with rum, strawberry puree, oj, and a come of other things. I would order this again even at $8something a glass. My SO ordered the Maya Iced Tea-tea with a hint of passionfruit. I ordered the Breakfast Poutine (only available on the weekends). It came with pork belly and two poached eggs with some arugula sitting on top of french fries. Talk about yummy-Perfectly poached eggs and delicious fries (not crispy since it was sitting below everything). As for the pork belly, there were very few pieces and the pieces were pretty dry. That was disappointing. I probably will try something else next time! My SO ordered the cast iron duck confit. His dish didn't come with much duck, but he enjoyed his goat cheese spread. He also said he'll try something else next time like french toast. Also, service was good here but just really slow. awe came starving so a 25-min wait for the food after we were seated and ordered felt like forever. My cocktail was already melting by the time I got my food and drinking on an empty stomach sucked haha. Tip: My Yelp friend, Paige told me about the option to join the waitlist on Yelp. It's awesome because I can see how many parties are ahead of me and estimate how long I have to wait!

The food and drink is always great when you eat at Prep and Pastry! The Sangria is definetly one of my favorites especially when I can split the "Jar" size with my bestie! I took my mom here for a late Mother's Day Brunch, we decided to try the bottle of champagne with 3 mixers, we had the prickly pear, sangria, and madra mixer. The sangria was our favorite this time around! You really can't go wrong when you try the food, although the Chicken and Brie Sandwich as well as the Steak and Egg Sandwich are soooo yummy! Went for the 1st time 1/5 on the suggestion of my son. He didn't lie. This is a place my husband and I have decided to go to again and again until we've eaten our way thru the menu, and then we'll start all over again. Hubby from Texas and knows his way around bisquits and gravy, got a wrinkled face when he saw the word "duck", ordered anyway, licked the plate. The Monte Cristo did not disappoint but I went nuts when I saw/tasted the smashed potatoes. We'll try the week-end brunch next. Cheryl F. Tucson AZ

The best brunch food I've ever had in my life! I go here whenever I visit my sister and literally everything is delicious. Great selection of teas and mimosas. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff! Be prepared for a 15 to 30 minute wait though- it's popular!

Quality! Quality! Quality! This is one of Tucson's absolute best places for brunch & more. As far as I know, they prepare everything in-house, is of the highest quality and is constantly amazing. Everyone who works there is friendly, attractive and very hard working, you cam tell that they are treated well and love their job. I cannot say enough about how much I love the this place.

Great place, food and drinks were amazing. Wait was a while but the wait time they gave us was accurate. Got the Sammie and it was very good. My wife is gluten free and she enjoyed her gluten free omelet. Everything I try here is very good, I especially enjoyed the bloody Mary. I'm not a big cocktail guy but it is delicious and the shot of Guinness it comes with is a nice touch.

Whats not to love?! Definitely like the vibe at the original location better, however the food and service at both is amazing. Love supporting local!

Enjoyed a brunchy lunch with friends. Food was excellent. Most had omelets. Loved mine. Side potatoes a little oily but crunchy and good. Service prompt. Would go again.

Great brunch location. Atmosphere was welcoming and the food delicious. Only reason I didn't rate it at a 5 was because they ran out of my first AND second choice. Went in wanting pancakes and bacon, which they informed me they were out of and then after I placed my other choice (the chicken and toast) server came back and told me they were out of that as well. They did give us a free pastry because of the trouble. My third choice, the Beni was really good, but still would of preferred the other two. Even so, I'd definitely go back.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE Prep & Pastry! Everything on their menus is amazing and I can't stop myself from going there on the regular. I recommend The Beni, their grilled cheese and the Prickly Pear Mimosa. But each dish is so filling that you can't just go once. You're going to have to plan a second trip. Their waiters, hostesses, and bartenders are all great! They are inviting and awesome to chat with all the while being attentive and fast with the orders. Prep & Pastry is the Disneyland of brunch in Tucson, Arizona!

This was my first time here. And I was not disappointed, if anything, this would be one of my new places to return to. Not only was our food exquisite, but the service was phenomenal!! My waitress Crystal and the manager, Brandon, were so friendly and attentive to our table. I had the Monte Cristo, which was heaven in my mouth and my son had the S'mores, which he loved too. I also had one of their many flavor hot teas, I think it was the Madagascar coconut flavor, just Yumm! I will be telling all my friends, coworkers and family about this place and can't wait to return and savor something else from the menu. 👍👍

I have eaten at both locations in Tucson, and the food is the same. The Grant Ave. location seems to have more tables and has a higher ceiling that allows for an open feel. As for the food, it's quite good, but not flawless. On my most recent visit to the Grant Ave. location, I had the fried chicken and french toast. The french toast was darn yummy, but the fried chicken over done and quite pedestrian. Those weren't any better than fried chicken you'd get at an overheated buffet line. On the other hand, in past visits, I've really enjoyed their All Hail omelette and their pancakes. All told, I'm generally quite happy to eat here and would recommend it. But it's not quite good enough that I keep thinking of excuses to return.

Prep & Pastry opened its second location in July. They serve real food, provide excellent service and mix up some fun cocktails. My favorite is Joel's Thai Fighter. I think I've tried everything on the menu over time and not had a dish that wasn't satisfying and casually elegant. You can't make reservations so get there early. Any line to wait your turn is worth it!
